Who is Sahel Watch intended for?

For organizations that need to protect their teams and assets in the Sahel and the Gulf of Guinea: security managers at companies, NGOs, and institutions, as well as program directors and operations managers. The tool is useful for both long-term monitoring and ad hoc decision-making support.

Where does the information come from?

From a network of local correspondents, specialized alert groups, security sources, local media, and social media. Every piece of information is cross-checked, analyzed, and verified by our team before publication.

Is the information sourced?

Yes. New incidents are always cited, and older ones are being cited gradually. Public sources are cited by name; confidential sources are identified by type.

Which countries are covered?

The countries of the Sahel and the Gulf of Guinea—a total of 12 countries monitored. Coverage is most detailed in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. Through our network of local partners, we can expand monitoring to other areas upon request.

What do progress reports include?

They describe and analyze the situation over the period in question, based on incidents reported on the platform. They are issued weekly, monthly, or upon request, and are broken down by region, perpetrator, target, or type of incident.

How much does a subscription cost?

Starting at 350,000 FCFA per month (approximately 535 €) for an annual plan, or 450,000 FCFA per month (approximately 685 €) for a monthly plan. One subscription covers one facility and one country.

What does the subscription include?

Full access to the platform, its data, and its reports for an unlimited number of users within your organization, including alerts and analysis requests.

How do I access the app?

Request a demo using the form: an analyst will walk you through the platform as it applies to your specific areas, and then we'll provide a quote for your organization.

Can I request custom analyses?

Yes, analysis requests are included in the subscription: route safety, site layout, etc. For complex analyses not covered by the subscription, we’ll provide you with a quote.

Can I import my own data?

Yes: Your data can be integrated on an ad hoc, regular, or synchronized basis so that it appears on the same map as ours. Our data is also accessible via API.
